X-ES Introduces Another Industry-Leading 3U VPX VITA 62 Power Supply
Middleton, WI – Extreme Engineering Solutions, Inc. (X-ES), a leading provider of VPX-based SBC, networking, I/O, power supply, and system-level solutions, introduces the XPm2220, a high-performance 3U VPX-REDI (VITA 62) power supply. The XPm2220 opens the door to reducing the total SWaP, cost, and complexity of VPX-based systems by providing a number of distinctive capabilities, including industry-leading output power and efficiency. It also provides internal EMI filtering, direct support for a wide input voltage range, and fits within a single 0.8-inch or 1-inch pitch 3U VPX slot.
The XPm2220 provides up to 300 W of total combined output power at up to 90% efficiency, and it can be paired with another XPm2220 for load sharing and redundancy. A single XPm2220 can support up to 25 A on 12 V, 2 A on -12 V, 40 A on 5 V, 20 A on 3.3 V, and 4 A on 3.3 V Auxiliary. Internal MIL-STD-461 EMI filtering enables the XPm2220 to eliminate the potential need for additional system-level power filtering within a deployed chassis. This can have a significant impact on reducing system SWaP, cost, and time to market. The XPm2220 also includes an Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) controller for monitoring input and output voltage, as well as board temperature, through the VITA 46 system management I2C interface.
