Model 460 Three Phase Voltage Monitor

You can't afford not to have one on every motor...

Rapid City, SD, August 28, 2002 - SymCom, Inc., the innovative manufacturer of MotorSaver® and PumpSaver®, is pleased to introduce the latest addition to their product line: The Model 460 Three Phase Voltage Monitor. SymCom has manufactured a quality line of voltage monitors for nearly 30 years. These products protect motors from problems such as phase loss, phase reversal, overvoltage, undervoltage, voltage unbalance, and phase/frequency shift. The Model 460 combines unsurpassed motor protection and control with finger-safe wiring, easy installation, and LED fault indication.

The Model 460 comes standard with four adjustable settings: nominal voltage, restart delay time, unbalance percentage trip point, and trip delay time. When a harmful condition is detected, an output relay is deactivated after the selected time (Trip Delay). The output relay reactivates after power line conditions return to an acceptable level for the selected time (Restart Delay). Fault diagnostics and run conditions are displayed by two indicator LEDs: the red LED flashes or stays solid to indicate different fault conditions, and the green LED flashes during the restart delay and stays solid when the output relay is energized.

The Model 460 is useful in many industries for countless applications. These industries include: mining, agriculture, building trades, chemical, fire protection, HVAC, municipal water, wastewater treatment, pulp and paper, refining, and many others. Pumps, compressors, conveyors, blowers, generators, and many other commercial and industrial motorized products can be protected and controlled using the Model 460 MotorSaver®.

Today's industrial operations cannot afford to be shut down due to motor failures. Motor repair or replacement, downtime, and loss of production can be very costly. Over 15% of these motor failures are due to power fluctuations and are easily detected before damage occurs, which is why a voltage monitor should be installed with every motor. The Model 460, backed by a 5-year warranty, offers advanced motor protection and control in a small package and at a competitive price.

In response to the ever-changing needs of their clients worldwide, SymCom brings together proven design technology with a robust new enclosure. The finger-safe, IEC style enclosure can be easily mounted into any panel with two screws or snapped onto a standard DIN rail.

SymCom is raising the bar with modern, efficient manufacturing techniques while maintaining the highest product quality. Using surface mount components, microcontrollers, and proven designs, the Model 460 can be manufactured at a cost much lower than competitor's products.

According to Warren Leopold, SymCom's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the Model 460 has set the new industry standard for voltage monitors. Never before has anyone incorporated so much control and functionality into such a competitively priced unit.

The Model 460 is UL listed and meets CSA requirements for use in Canada. It also passes the European requirements for protective switching devices and carries the CE mark. This means that the Model 460 can stand up to the electromagnetic disturbances often seen in industrial settings. The European market requires that products carry the CE mark, as do international markets from Siberia to the Middle East.

Simple wiring, DIN rail compatibility, and the auto-ranging design of the Model 460 allow for hassle-free installation. It can be connected directly to the three phase lines without fuses, significantly reducing installation time and cost. In addition, the Model 460 works on all three phase systems from 190-480 VAC. SymCom's customer focused philosophy means that users can find a real person at the other end of the phone line if they need help with their installation.

Over 2000 distributors worldwide provide SymCom's customers with the highest quality voltage monitors, electronic overloads, remote monitors, and load sensors.
