Gigabit Ethernet-capable, Single-Slot, Multi-Function, VME Card Now Available

A/D, D/A, S/D, Function Generator, Discrete I/O, TTL I/O, Transceiver I/O,
LVDT/RVDT, and RTD Functions are Available

Bohemia NY -- North Atlantic Industries (NAI) has announced the availability of a 6-module, multi-function, single slot VME card. This universal and highly flexible card eliminates the complexity and size constraints of using multiple, independent, single-function cards. The 64C2 VME card can accommodate 6 independent modules, each of which can include the functions of A/D (10-channels), D/A (10-channels), S/D (4-channels), Function Generator (4-channels), Discrete I/O (16-channels), TTL I/O (16-channels), Transceiver I/O (11-channels), LVDT/RVDT (4-channels), and RTD (6-channels). The 64C2 incorporates a Gigabit Ethernet interface that can be used to transfer data to and from the board, without using the VME backplane bus. This Ethernet port allows the board to be used as a standalone remote sensor interface, without the need for a separate computer board. Multiple 64C2 boards can be distributed in a system, and networked together using Ethernet for complete data acquistion capability.

The interchangeable multi-function design of the 64C2 provides extensive diagnostics and is available in both commercial temperature range and severe environment, industrial temperature range. For increased flexibility, each of the functions of the 64C2 is highly programmable at the channel level. Continuous background (BIT) testing is performed on all functions and channels. This testing is totally transparent to the user, requires no programming, and doesn't interfere with the normal operation of the card. The 64C2 is ideally suited for military and commercial programs, including airborne, shipboard, ground mobile and C3I applications. Its interchangeable modules increase functional density, and reduce power consumption, size, and cost of the overall system.

The 64C2 is available with operating temperature ranges of -40°C to +85°C and 0°C to +70°C. Conduction cooled versions with wedgelocks are also available. Pricing is contingent upon the type of modules selected. Consult factory for price. Delivery is 10 to 12 weeks ARO.

"The 64C2 provides our customers with a flexible, multi-function, single-slot VME card that reduces size, weight, power and cost," said Mike Oliveri, VP of Sales and Marketing at NAI. "They particularly like the Gigabit Ethernet interface that can be used to bypass the VME backplane bus."
