VJ Inspection Systems Launches into EU Market; Introduces W4000 X-Ray Automotive Wheel Inspection System

W4000 Improves QC Management, Achieves Complete Coverage in a Single Image

DSSELDORF, GERMANY, 12 June 2007 - VJ Inspection Systems, an industry leader in X- ray inspection products and technology headquartered in Bohemia, New York, USA, today officially marked its entry into the European Union market with the introduction of the VJT W4000 X-Ray Wheel Inspection System at the GIFA 2007 11th International Foundry Trade Fair.

The VJT W4000 dramatically improves aluminum automotive wheel quality control management. It is the only X-ray inspection system that delivers complete high-resolution coverage of the entire wheel in a single image.

"Imagine the quality assurance advantage of viewing the entire wheel in high resolution - rather than peering at dozens of close-up snapshots on a computer screen," said Pete Corio VJ Inspection Systems product manager.

"Only the VJT W4000 provides operators with a single uninterrupted wheel discontinuity picture, with multiple viewing angles, to more quickly and accurately ensure quality control and optimize manufacturing process adjustments. For the first time, European wheel
manufacturers can benefit from a system that offer substantial increases in accuracy and productivity," said Jason Wang, President of Rosta Steel and Alloy Wheels.

The incorporation of next-generation linear diode array (LDA) imaging technology, Automatic Defect Enhancement (ADE) for manual inspection and Defect Recognition Software (DRS) for fully or semi-automated inspection all combine to significantly improve inspection quality while reducing operator fatigue.

Database storage of inspection records allows analysis and process improvement. Real-time feedback of inspection results and ADE images to production stations enables online process control.

Moreover, the wheel inspection system delivers superior system reliability through simplicity - by requiring just a single rotation for complete image coverage.

Additional features of the new VJT W4000 system include:

o Industry standard cycle rate (of one 17-inch wheel every 30 seconds)

o Multiple views from a single scan

o High-resolution imaging system

o 250kV source available with PC-controlled cooler

o Image and archival system

o Minimal moving parts for nominal maintenance

o Scans wheels from 13 inches to 24 inches in diameter

o Programmable system controller

o US 21CFR1020.40, UVV, DIN54113, VDE-0-100, CE, EUATOM 96/29 and IEC 529 Compliant

The VJT W4000 is currently in use at Rosta International Limited's new US$100 million Suzhou Yuan Chen Alloy Wheel Manufacturing Plant in Suzhou, China. The plant has a capacity of five million wheels.

The VJT W4000 is immediately available worldwide from VJ Inspection Systems. For more information, visit with VJ Inspection Systems during GIFA 2007 in hall 15 / D14.
