Informative Graphics Releases Brava!® Enterprise 5.0 For Documentum Webtop and Digital Asset Management (DAM) Clients

New Release Features Support of Visual Rights(TM) Via "Content Sealed Format" (CSF), Offline View and Markup, Block-out (Redaction) and Markup Burn-in

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona - May 10, 2004 - Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in Web-document and collaboration technology, announced the release of its industry-leading Brava!® Enterprise 5.0 view and markup software for Documentum Webtop and Digital Asset Management (DAM) clients, delivering a new standard of viewing versatility for online access to documents, images, and CAD engineering files.

"Brava 5.0 for Documentum extends the value of our content management solution and fortifies secure content and document visualization for our customers," said Naomi Miller, director of product marketing at Documentum, a division of EMC. "The new block-out feature (redaction) and Visual Rights(TM) persistent security controls are important additions that make Brava extremely attractive for global applications, especially government."

Brava's architecture allows it to support large groups of users on a single server, making it ideal for Documentum enterprise deployments. This architecture eliminates the need for each viewing client to request data from the server (refresh the view) for each zoom and pan operation.

Brava 5.0 for Documentum creates and views IGC's new "content sealed format" (CSF), which incorporates the Visual Rights security framework. Visual Rights gives authors selective and persistent security controls over their content. Markups can be burned-in to CSF files, and a new block-out function (redaction) allows users to hide specific file content from view and text searching. CSF files are viewable by both Brava Enterprise and the free Brava! Reader.

Brava 5.0 for Documentum also supports occasionally connected or offline computing, permitting Documentum users to save selected files in CSF format to their local machine, and then disconnect from the Brava Server to work offline. Markups created or modified while offline can be uploaded and saved to an integrated vault as usual when reconnected to the Brava Server. This feature allows enterprises to host and centralize access to content across the firewall, without having to share native files or send information by email, fax or courier, and partners, suppliers, and vendors can be granted controlled access to content so they can provide collaborative comments. "Brava 5.0 for Documentum gives large customers an easy-to-use, fully integrated visualization and annotation platform to facilitate secure collaboration extending beyond the firewall," said Gary Heath, IGC's President and CEO. "Companies in every industry have a solid basis to consider Brava as a fundamental component in their respective content and document management strategies," he added.
