Informative Graphics Releases HTML Publishing Options to New MYRIAD v6.1 View & Markup Software
New version also adds SolidEdge Version 14, XGL/ZGL, SAT in addition to the new publishing option.
PHOENIX, Arizona - June 3, 2003 - Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in web publishing, viewing and collaboration technology, today announced the release of MYRIAD version 6.1 view and markup software, which now supports Solid Edge Version 14, XGL / ZGL, and Spatial ACIS SAT, as well as a new MYRIAD Publishing Option add-on to facilitate downstream visual access of CAD design content and markup changes.
Informative Graphics has maintained a product-design focus on simplifying the downstream access of CAD and related document content. The MYRIAD Publishing option generates HTML pages that can be easily added or linked to existing web sites to support fully interactive viewing of 3D CAD models, as well as author-specified views and markup changes. The MYRIAD Publishing Option creates HTML pages on-the-fly that have various levels of interactivity, based on the user's requirements.
CAD assemblies and selected model parts can be published to the company's own ISF file format with security rights, and are viewable with IGC's freely-distributed ModelPress Viewer. MYRIAD utilizes the industry-leading ModelPress 3D compression algorithms, surmounting the difficulty of using intranets/extranets to transfer and view large, complex 3D models. Models can also be compressed, published, and then emailed directly to a reviewer. ISF files are often 70-98% smaller in size than the original CAD model.
Alternatively, 3D assemblies and parts can be published as an interactive set of pre-rendered images to be viewed with a Java-enabled browser via a freely distributed player, also from IGC. This low bandwidth option allows 3D-like interaction with CAD model assemblies, sub assemblies, parts and explodes from author-specified views (front, side, top, etc). Parts can be identified in exploded views and viewed individually to give basic extent size information.
MYRIAD's Changemarks® feature can be used to publish a series of 3D/2D CAD and document markups as HTML pages. Reviewers can then step through them using any Web browser. This option enables engineering change orders and engineering change requests to be distributed and reviewed easily and ubiquitously.
