RIDGID®/Kollmann SeeSnake(TM) Plus Camera Offers Better Durability, Maneuverability, Reliability

ELYRIA, OH - December 2003 - Ridge Tool Company has introduced a new and improved camera designed for use with its RIDGID/Kollmann video inspection system. SeeSnake(TM) Plus, the new camera, features improved durability, better maneuverability and is easier to locate inside drain and sewer lines.

SeeSnake Plus has 100 percent stainless steel construction for longer camera life, plus a thicker light shield for better wear resistance. The heavy-duty lighting has also been improved for better visibility and reliability.

The size of the camera head has been reduced 26 percent to allow for more maneuverability. The camera head pushes further, through tighter spots, giving the user increased access to lines and greater diagnostic capability.

SeeSnake Plus features a factory-installed 512 Hz transmitter that makes it compatible with the RIDGID NaviTrack(TM) line locator. When used in conjunction with NaviTrack's six-antenna technology, the camera head is easier to locate in underground pipe.

The new SeeSnake Plus is the most durable, most maneuverable camera system available from Ridge Tool for inspecting pipe. It enables the user to see deep inside drain lines and other types of piping in order to determine the cause and location of blockages.

"Our customers know that camera systems are profitable in that they allow problems to be diagnosed faster and more accurately," said Mark Fleming, product manager, RIDGID/Kollmann. "In response to our customers needs, we have improved our video inspection systems with the development of SeeSnake Plus. Our customers now have an even more durable, reliable, and maneuverable system."

Along with the SeeSnake Plus camera and heavy-duty lighting, the SeeSnake systems consist of a push-rod assembly that moves the camera through multiple 90° bends, in 1/4" to 8" lines (Mini SeeSnake) and in 2" to 12" lines (SeeSnake). The video monitor shows the blockage, while the in-line transmitter pinpoints the exact location of the problem.

SeeSnake's high-quality components, stainless steel construction and waterproof camera housing make the unit Ridge's most durable. The system is UL- and CSA-listed. The UL/CSA certification meets OSHA requirements for cameras used in sanitary sewers.
