Universal Engineering Reintroduces the Screenmaster

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (May 27, 2003) - The Universal ScreenMaster means capacity. Capacity to eliminate plant bottlenecks. Capacity to produce more tons per hour. Capacity to meet tight production schedules. Capacity to get more production with less manpower. Capacity to put real profit potential into your screening operation.

"Universal Engineering's history of innovation means that we're always introducing the most durable, flexible and profitable equipment to the market," says Universal Engineering President and CEO Daniel Ferguson. "With the reintroduction of the Universal Horizontal ScreenMaster, we know that Universal is offering greater screening capacity with longer life and reduced maintenance."

The ScreenMaster has greater screening area on each deck because they are built 4" wider than most competitive models. This additional clear screening area gives you 10% to 20% more useable screen, resulting in more production and more profit. The decks are mounted on rugged, fully stress relieved baskets and frames with a unique air spring/phasing arm suspension pioneered by Universal. The exclusive air springs provide a unique cushioning effect that helps to isolate all framing and support structures from damaging effects of vibration. The phasing arms provide total control of the screen action. These rugged, tubular steel assemblies are yoked through the frame to pivot at the bottom and provide a flexible connection between the screen basket and the frame.

Universal Engineering notes that the standard design of the ScreenMaster features:

o Deep channel framing and heavy plate construction with optional knockout plates available to make field installation of spray bars an easy job
o A fully lined impact feed box takes the impact and shock load of fed material and distributes the material over the full width of the screen to provide maximum capacity and uniform screen wear
o Heavy hold down bars along each side of the screen basket clamp the screen wire with a vice like grip - stretching the wire taut over rubber insulated crown bars
o Removable decks to permit easy screen wire replacement from above on most models
o Two extra heavy, perfectly matched, high alloy steel counterweight: shafts provide ample vibrating power to the screen
o Two counterweighted balanced shafts are timed through positive timing and drive gears
o Unique visual adjustment gauge shows when screen requires adjustment of air springs for maximum efficiency

"The Universal ScreenMaster was designed with more in mind than just adding durability and versatility to screening applications," notes Ferguson. "Creating profitability for our customers was a chief concern for us at Universal Engineering. That's why the ScreenMaster is available in a variety of sizes to fit every installation, whether portable or stationary."
