Fully Automated Vial Unplugging Device Fills Pre-Plugged And Pre-Sterilized Vials For Clinical Trials
Burlington, VT: A small unplugging device for filling pre-plugged and pre-sterilized vials is available from Flexicon America, Inc. for the automated filling of clinical trial materials.
Flexicon UP20 is an accessory that mounts on the Flexicon PF6/FF20 peristaltic liquid filler system. During operation, the FF20 feeder places pre-plugged and pre-sterilized vials under the UP20 filling device. Sterilizable stainless steel jaws lift the plug and lower the filling needle into the vial. After filling, the needle is retracted and the original plug is replaced.
The highly flexible unplugging device handles different vials with only a change of jaws. Jaws for both 020 and 013 plugs are supplied with the system. Custom jaws for other size plugs can be ordered.
