Chevalier's First Fully Upgradeable VMC
Chevalier's new 2443VMC comes with 4th axis prep, coolant-thru-spindle prep and spindle oil cooler prep as standard equipment, making it easily upgradeable to meet the user's future requirements. The machine combines high performance and large machining capability within a compact 120" x 89" x 104" footprint. Table size is 49" x 26" and can accommodate workpieces up to 2200lbs. Two control types are offered: FANUC OiMB conversational control with Advanced Integrated Contour Control (AICC) with Data server or ANILAM 6000 conversational control with 16MB RAM and 6GB HD. The machine comes with a 20HP, 10,000rpm cartridge type spindle with air purge system and 5-nozzle ring type coolant system. The standard 24 tool arm type ATC features a floating type tool discharge system which eliminates the tool unclamping pressure generated during each tool release. Construction features include all-Meehanite cast iron machine base with wide-stance configuration, separate casting for way oil and coolant, heavily ribbed frame and extra wide, 4 box ways on the Y axis, and Turcite-B coated, hardened and ground guideways and slideways. Pre-tensioned, class C3, 40mm THK ballscrews are anchored at both ends and servo motors are directly coupled to the ballscrews for the highest precision. Pre-loaded ball nuts eliminate backlash. A Z axis counterweight system has a heavy duty chain assembly which helps increase stability and reduce headstock vibration during high speed machining. Productivity options include 12000rpm spindle (#40), direct coupled 15000rpm spindle, 8000rpm spindle (#50), heavy duty ZF 2-step gearbox, CNC rotary table, cutting air blast, rear chip flushing device and lift-up chip conveyor.
