Hi-CENTER V50D; Rigid and Accurate Vertical Machining Center

The Hi-Center V50D is designed to provide superior rigidity and accuracy as well as clean surface finishes. Traveling column design, compact size and centralized chip collection are features that make this machine ideally suited for factory automation. Chips are flushed through a slanted bed to the rear of the machine to provide a clean work environment and minimize thermal distortion. The V50D come with a Fanuc Series 0iMA controller, which includes a high contrast 8.4" color LCD, 640M (2,100 ft) memory, advanced preview control (15 block look ahead) and powerful customizing functions. The control panel can be rotated 135 degrees to allow easy viewing and access from either the side or front of the machine.

The V50D has a quick pallet change and fast rapid traverse rates of 1,575 ipm which minimize non-cut time, increasing productivity. The 20 hp spindle motor generates 211.2 ft-lbs torque at 8,000 rpm. Classic manufacturing methods and ultra rigid construction are combined with advanced technological features to provide exceptional value. 2.0 second tool to tool ATC time, with a 24 tool magazine. Greater productivity can be achieved due to the unique tool changer design. Compared to other machines, the actual time from the last tool leaving a finished part to the first tool starting a fresh part through a pallet change is far shorter. The APC design is such that only rotary motion of the table occurs during operation. (No up and down motion.) There is an optional built-in hydraulic rotary joint for the APC. This is made up of a connection block for air and hydraulic service to the pallet and allows use of automatic fixtures. This feature provides fast, reliable and convenient part clamping. Wedge type mechanism produces 660 lbs of pull stud retention force. This is more than twice the tool clamp force of spring type clamp systems.
