LAS VEGAS, Oct. 3 // -- Vanguard Integrity Professionals(TM), the long-time leader in security and auditing solutions for critical infrastructure computing environments, today announced that its inCompliance solution will now be able to use IBM's DB2 UDB Express as its database engine. A free version of DB2 UDB Express is available from IBM. This means customers will now have the choice of using DB2 or SQL®, which can result in significant cost savings across the enterprise.
inCompliance enables organizations to set, adjust and continually audit specific security policies as well as implement nearly 200 critical security compliance checks based on their specific requirements. inCompliance also provides administrators and auditors with an overview of the entire RACF® data center security environment, as well as a detailed view of any compliance check that's in process.
"An especially strong feature is the Web interface that lets an administrator quickly review the on-going security analysis of multiple systems," said David Hill, noted industry analyst and principal of Massachusetts-based Mesabi Group. "And when speed is of the essence, such as when inCompliance detects high-risk changes or exceptions to security policy or rules, it instantly sends email notification to identify potential violations."
