V/A Network Interface uses wavelet compression technology.
Press Release Summary:
InCharge 4300 Series Digital Video/Audio Network Interface provides access to video images from NISC or PAL camera over Ethernet LAN. Use of TCP/IP protocol ensures global Internet access. Unit supports visually lossless to 350:1 real-time compression and decompression of digital video. Using wavelet hardware compression technology, it can compress images at up to 60 images/sec, transmit them over wired or wireless connection, and decompress them for viewing or long-term storage.

InCharge 4300/4350 Digital Video/Audio Network Interface
"Cutting-Edge Digital Video Surveillance Technology From Applied Integration Corporation of Tucson, Arizona"
Applied Integration Corporation, Tucson, Arizona, today announces the introduction of the InCharge 4300 Series Digital Video/Audio Network Interface.
Description
The InCharge 4300 Digital Video/Audio Network Interface is a digital network appliance that acts as either a video-to-network interface or a network-to-video interface.
The InCharge 4300 provides access to high-quality video images from a standard NTSC or PAL camera over an Ethernet LAN. The use of TCP/IP protocol ensures global Internet access.
The InCharge 4300 is capable of supporting visually lossless to 350:1 real-time compression and decompression of digital video with very high image quality.
Using wavelet hardware compression technology, Applied Integration is able to compress high-quality images at up to 60 images per second, transmit them over a wired or wireless connection, and then decompress them for viewing and/or long-term storage.
This solution allows customers to overlay video on top of existing network wiring infrastructure, eliminating the need to run additional wiring specifically for cameras. It also allows for the rapid setup and removal of a digital closed-circuit TV (CCTV) link as changing surveillance needs dictate.
The wavelet compression technology produces higher-quality video than PC-based standards such as MPEG, since each individual picture frame is stored and transmitted independently.
Users may configure an InCharge 4300 remotely as either a digital video source or a digital video destination.
The InCharge 4300 can also be configured to store video to a network file server - anywhere on the Internet.
In combination with wireless network equipment, the InCharge 4300 can be used as a portable surveillance and reconnaissance system.
The products are designed, engineered, and manufactured by Applied Integration Corporation in Tucson, Arizona. Learn more about Applied Integration at www.appliedi.com and www.appliedi.com/www/inchargenet/.
