UXGA Resolution RGB Amplifier Eliminates Negative Supply
MILPITAS, CA - April 28, 2006 - Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LT6557, the fastest triple video amplifier for single supply applications. The LT6557 features a wide output swing that extends to 0.8V of supply rails, making it the only wideband RGB amplifier capable of providing full video swing when operated from a 5V single supply. The LT6557's -3dB bandwidth of 500MHz, fast slew rate of 2200V/us coupled with a quick 4ns settling time, enhances AC performance of the amplifier, resulting in sharper video images. In addition, the LT6557 has a 0.1dB gain flatness that extends to 120MHz, facilitating use over a wide range of video signals.
"The LT6557's unique internal architecture simplifies the task of processing high speed video signals in single supply applications," according to Dan Tran, design section leader for Linear Technology's Signal Conditioning Products. "An internal biasing feature allows the user to program the inputs of all three amplifiers to the same dc voltage level with a single resistor. This feature minimizes external component count and simplifies AC-coupled applications. Furthermore, the internal fixed gain of 2 eliminates six external gain setting resistors required for driving double-terminated cables."
The LT6557 is ideal for use in SXGA and UXGA LCD projectors and monitors, digital presenters, scanners, automotive display systems such as in-car navigation or in-car video systems and CCD imaging systems.
Offered in the space saving 16-pin SSOP and DFN packages, the LT6557 is fully specified for operation over the industrial and commercial temperature ranges. Pricing starts at $2.50 each in 1,000-piece quantities.
