Pulsed UV/Visible Curing System Outperforms Continuous Wave Mercury Lamps
A new pulsed light UV/Visible curing system that features two high-efficiency xenon lamps at a price comparable to continuous wave mercury lamps has been introduced by XENON Corporation of Woburn, Massachusetts.
Xenon's RC-1002 CoolCure Twin-XL® Pulsed UV/Visible Curing System consists of a power supply, pulse forming network, and switch control module that drives two xenon lamps which can be mounted remotely. Featuring instant on/off, lower energy consumption, and greater flexibility than continuous wave mercury lamp curing systems, this modular pulsed light curing system provides deeper penetration and cooler substrate surface temperatures.
Suitable for products from micron size up to 20" long, Xenon's RC-1002 CoolCure Twin-XL® Pulsed UV/Visible Curing System's xenon flash lamps each produce 1000 w/cm2 peak power, 100 w/cm2 average (per pulse) power, and have a 5.5" dia. light footprint. Operating with chemistries that absorb light at 200 to 600nm, the system can be easily integrated into OEM and end-user systems and eliminates the toxicity issues associated with mercury lamps.
