Compact UV Lamp Lets You See Surface Flaws in Tight Areas
Westbury, New York - The small size of the Spectroline® C-100 high-intensity ultraviolet lamp makes it easy for NDT inspectors to check for flaws and contamination in confined areas that larger lamps cannot reach. The lamp head is only 5½" x 8" (14 cm x 20 cm) or approximately one-half the size of other 100-watt and 150-watt units. The lamp's lightweight, ergonomic design and stay-cool pistol grip allow inspectors to use it for long periods without becoming fatigued.
The lamp's 100-watt bulb produces a steady-state long-wave UV (365nm) intensity of 4,000 µW/cm² at 15 inches (38 cm). Its visible light emission is less than two footcandles (0.2 lux), which easily meets current ASTM specs for FPI and MPI. The lamp is powered by a magnetic ballast that weighs only 11½ lbs (5.4 kg).
A flexible, heat-resistant filter holder minimizes filter movement during use, reduces the risk of breakage and prevents any visible light leakage. It can be removed in seconds to change the bulb or filter without any tools!
The lamp's pistol grip is easily attached to the mounting pin on the metal handle of the transformer base, so it may be rotated 360° while mounted. The C-100 is UL listed and CSA approved.
