Original Press Release:

Rigid and Flexible UV Filtering Material Protects Against Prematuring Curing

CHICAGO, October 19, 2004 - By design, radiation curable coatings, inks and adhesives are sensitive to ultraviolet radiation. Actinic radiation from the sun or electric lights can initiate curing of formulations prior to processing. In order to avoid unwanted changes from occurring, it is very important to filter out the ultraviolet from all light sources in the work environment.

UV Process Supply (Chicago, IL) offers a complete range of materials with varying UV filtering capabilities up to 400 nm. These products are much less expensive than yellow lights, are reusable, and can also be used over windows and skylights.

Clear and Orange Flexible UV Filter Sheets offer 99.8% protection against UV radiation from windows, skylights and other light fixtures. For your convenience, these sheets are available in cut sheets customized by length or uncut 100' rolls, with or without adhesive backing. Adhesive backed filters are also available in 2 x 4' (clear) or 2' x 5' (amber) stock sheets.

Rigid UV Filter Sheets filter out 100% of UV radiation below 390 nm and 98% between 390 and 400 nm. Made of tough acrylic, these filter sheets are ideal for protective booths or shields enclosing UV equipment. Clear filter sheets allow maximum transmission of visible light while bronze and blue colored sheets significantly reduce visible light transmission. Features include shatter-resistant, lightweight construction which can be sawed, drilled, and routed. Each sheet strongly resists many chemicals including ammonia and dilute acids.
