Belden Introduces Brilliance® VideoTwist(TM) UTP Cables

New VideoTwist Cables Offer Superior Low Skew and Return Loss Performance For RGB Component Video Applications, Plus They Adhere To Applicable TIA/EIA Category Standards

RICHMOND, IN - Belden Electronics Division, a world leader in the development of wire and cable products for the broadcast, data and audio/visual markets, introduces Brilliance VideoTwist UTP Cables. These new cables eliminate the professional installer's need for two separate cables for video/data installations by offering a single, UTP cable that delivers both high quality video and superior data performance. VideoTwist cables perform reliably when used in component video displays, standard premise Ethernet installations, and in blade edge computing/KVM applications, which are becoming more common as companies centralize their CPU functioning, share data, and streamline individual workstations.

"Although coax is the preferred solution for the transmission of video, UTP cables are gaining in popularity because of the cable's easy installation and economy. When compared to other UTP cables, Belden's Brilliance VideoTwist UTP cables offer the best low skew and return loss performance in today's marketplace," according to Belden's Marketing Director, Bill Miller. "In addition, VideoTwist cables are unique in their ability to provide extended video transmission distances (out to 1,300 feet and beyond, depending on transmission equipment) plus they offer improved video quality with better pixel alignment, sharper images with cleaner edges and reduced vertical bands and ghosting."

The Belden Brilliance VideoTwist series of cables is comprised of three UTP cable types, available in both plenum and riser versions:

o VideoTwist Nanoskew(TM) 7987P and 7987R provide the best low skew characteristics and longest distance transmission capabilities, making them ideal for high-performance, video-only transmissions.

o VideoTwist 7988P and 7988R meet the TIA/EIA Category 5e Standard and can be used for component video, data and KVM applications.

o VideoTwist 7989P and 7989R meet the TIA/EIA Category 6 Standard and also provide exceptional video performance for component video, data and KVM.

VideoTwist 7988 and 7989 UTP cables feature Belden's patented Bonded-Pair construction. The cables are precisely designed and manufactured so that conductor-to-conductor spacing is uniform and consistently maintained throughout the entire length of the cable to ensure superior electrical performance - even after the rigors of installation. Belden calls this unique capability Installable Performance®.
