New Tripp Lite 2U SmartPro UPS System Combines Affordable Power Protection with Limitless Runtime Capabilities
Chicago, IL (November 18, 2002)-Tripp Lite, a world leader in the manufacture of power protection equipment, announces a new intelligent, line-interactive rackmount UPS system with 1500VA of battery backup, unlimited runtime capabilities and advanced power management features in a slim-line 2U cabinet-the SmartPro® 1500 RMXL2U (model # SMART1500RMXL2U). This full-featured UPS system will debut Monday, November 18, 2002, at the Comdex Trade Show and have an average reseller price of $719.00.
Although the SMART1500RMXL2U UPS System occupies only two units of rack space, it is loaded with the latest enhanced communications abilities and premium hardware features, including:
o SNMP slot for remote network management
o DB9 and USB communication ports work with bundled PowerAlert software to monitor and control multiple servers simultaneously
o Emergency Power Off interface jack for remote emergency shutdowns
o Customized load management receptacles to preserve battery runtime for more critical equipment
o Versatile 2-unit rackmount design adaptable to stack, tower and under-monitor applications
The SMART1500RMXL2U contains an internal microprocessor that constantly monitors incoming voltage levels and corrects under and overvoltages so that connected equipment receives only regulated, computer-grade power. In addition, an external battery connector allows the addition of optional battery packs during operational use ("hot-swapping") to provide virtually limitless runtime.
This 1500VA UPS system is designed to protect critical equipment including servers, hubs, routers, internetworking equipment, and ISP/Telecom/Lab equipment, against all types of power problems-including brownouts, blackouts, surges and line noise interference.

By simply accessing a secure Web site, users can obtain an SNMP-style management from any Web-enabled device, including wireless phones and handheld computers. One individually controllable pair of outlets allows remote reboot of network devices or preservation of battery power by shutting down non-essential devices during a power failure.
The SMART1500RMXL2U offers 8 outlet receptacles to connect multiple pieces of equipment. It can be configured in rack, tower, wallmount or under-monitor designs.
