(UPM RFID, Tampere) - UPM RFID is introducing new UPM Web(TM) UHF and UPM Trap(TM) NF UHF inlays based on the high-performance Monza(TM) 5 UHF RFID chip from Impinj. The new UPM Web(TM) product is suitable for item-level retail, logistics and supply chain applications. The new UPM Trap(TM) NF (near field) UHF product fits perfectly for small item-level applications in retail and pharmaceutical end-uses.
UPM Web(TM) is designed for the unique identification of items such as apparel and electronics. The Monza(TM) 5 IC enhances item-level tag performance while providing high read reliability and the lowest applied tag cost in a compact size similar to existing UPC/EAN stickers. In addition, the Monza(TM) Self-Serialization feature offers the ability to generate a unique SGTIN serial number directly from each chip, and without the need for complex and costly unique serialization solutions or services.
UPM Web(TM) with Monza(TM) 5 IC is approved by the RFID Research Center of the University of Arkansas in Denim and Polybagged Apparel Basics in addition to other product categories for retail suppliers.
