UPM Raflatac Launches New RFID Tags Based on NXP G2XM/L IC


(UPM Raflatac, Tampere, December 5, 2007) - UPM Raflatac is expanding its UHF EPC Class1 Gen2 product portfolio with UCODE G2X ICs from NXP. The G2X IC offers good performance over the entire UHF frequency range and supports up to 240 bit EPC number. It also offers reliable operation across long read ranges and in dense reader environments. G2X ICs are EPCglobal Class1 Gen2 1.2.0 compliant.

UPM Raflatac is launching four different products with the G2X IC: Web, Belt, DogBone and ShortDipole. Sample quantities of Web are available immediately; Belt, ShortDipole and DogBone from January 2008 onwards.

o item-level product for apparel and footwear tagging
o improved orientation insensitivity
o EAS alarm functionality

Rafsec Belt
o die-cut size 73.2 x 17 mm (2.882 x 0.669")

o EAS alarm functionality
o also available with 512 bit extra memory

Rafsec DogBone
o die-cut size 97 x 27 mm (3.819 x 1.063")
o retail SCM product for case and pallet-level tagging

Rafsec ShortDipole
o die-cut size 97 x 15 mm (3.819 x 0.590")
o retail SCM product for case and pallet-level tagging

All these products are available as dry and wet inlays as well as paper-faced tags.
