Subject: Updated Collet Closer information
Our family of Pneumatic/Low Pressure Hydraulic Collet Closers (found at this link from our website www.lexairinc.com/mta/cl-lpph-pr.html) recently went through a series of product updates and improvements. All models now feature the ability to be combined into multiple configurations without the need for external plumbing via the use of connector bushings. The enhanced lineup also features our patented "accessible-from-the-top" collet locking screw design which allows for quick and easy collet or part orientation in infinite positions (same as found on our Tri-Grip series). It is important to note that the mounting dimensions have changed and the new versions do not fit exactly where the older series models once did. Specifications and Technical information for the old and new style units can currently be found on our website. You will find notations telling you that there is limited availability for the older versions and that for new applications, the new style units should be utilized.
The presentations found at the bottom of the page in our MTA (http://www.lexairinc.com/mta/m-library.html) and Valve (http://www.lexairinc.com/valves/v-library.html) libraries have been updated to reflect the changes noted above. We have also added a PDF version of both presentations that can be used by personnel that either do not have or do not want to use PowerPoint® to view these presentations.
Both libraries now contain a new presentation (in PowerPoint® and PDF) entitled "Collet Closers 101" which covers what they are, how they work and what it takes to make them function. This is a good tutorial for personnel wishing to grasp a better understanding of these types of products.
