Universal Testing Machine works in harsh environments.

Press Release Summary:

With capacity of less than 1 lb to 1,000 lb, Tabletop eXpert 560x series works with eP Digital Controller or PC/Windows-based MTESTWindows(TM) to control and measure materials tension, compression, and bend tests. Flexible, modular design, offered in single- and dual-column configurations, allows for horizontal and vertical column arrangement. Actuator is top-mounted in vertical configurations, and motor/drive configurations result in operating speeds up to 25 ipm.

ADMET Debuts eXpert 560x Tabletop Universal Testing Machine

Features flexible, modular design, advanced controllers, range of capacities, faster actuator...

NORWOOD, Mass. - Oct. 17, 2005 - ADMET Inc., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, today introduced the eXpert 560x line of tabletop universal testing machines. Replacing ADMET's 450x line, it incorporates the latest in machine design and electronics to provide a flexible system for product and materials testing in capacity ranges of less than 1 lb. to 1,000 lb. in both single column and dual column configurations.

The new line's flexible design allows for both horizontal and vertical column configurations with the actuator top-mounted in vertical configurations, which makes it ideal for wet testing applications. The actuator can also be equipped with an optional bellows to seal the mechanics from moisture and airborne particles to operate maintenance-free in the harshest environments. Several motor/drive configurations lend increased flexibility and operating speeds of up to 25" (635mm) per minute.

The eXpert 560x is designed to work with either ADMET's recently announced low-cost eP Digital Controller or the MTESTWindows(TM) PC/Windows-based materials testing software system to control and measure materials tension, compression and bend tests. The detachable controller configuration allows the eXpert 560x to be used in sub-zero or elevated-temperature chambers.

"The eXpert 560x is the logical extension of our tabletop testing line," said Richard Gedney, ADMET founder and president. "It incorporates the latest technology and can be configured in a number of ways to accommodate virtually any low force product or materials testing situation. We expect it to be a popular product for metals, plastics, medical and a number of other industries, in both laboratory and production environments."

ADMET's component approach allows test engineers to integrate custom fixturing required for specialized materials/product testing. A wide range of standard grips and fixtures is also available from ADMET. The eXpert 560x line meets or exceeds ASTM E4, BSENISO7500-1 : 2004, DIN 51221 and JIS B7721 standards for load measurement accuracy. Strain measurement accuracy meets or exceeds ASTM E83 and BSENISO9513 :2002 standards. Full product specifications are available at: www.admet.com/assets/eXpert560x.pdf.

All ADMET eXpert 560x models are available immediately directly from ADMET and through ADMET representatives. Pricing for the eXpert 5601 with the eP Digital Controller starts at $3,500.
