Universal Bolsters Complete Solutions Portfolio at APEX 2011

Universal Instruments offers complete process, manufacturing and support solutions for a full range of electronics assembly applications. Universal will highlight two new additions to its complete solutions portfolio on booth #1635 at the 2011 IPC APEX show located at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, April 12-14. The Advantis 3(TM) Platform brings scalable performance and class-leading technology for electronics manufacturing in cost-sensitive markets. The Genesis Series 2 is the most capable platform available, delivering the ultimate in modular performance for standard to extreme surface mount applications. A formal launch ceremony and introduction of both platforms, followed by a press conference, will take place on the Universal booth on Tuesday, April 12 at 10:15 a.m.

Universal Instruments provides market-focused productivity solutions that integrate the most efficient, repeatable processes and provide the greatest value and return for electronics manufacturers. These factory-wide solutions extend from product concept throughout the entire product lifecycle to ensure that a quality product gets to market quickly and efficiently. Universal is uniquely qualified to offer complete solutions as a single vendor with the industry's broadest equipment portfolio, including Surface Mount, Through-hole, Odd-form, Final Assembly and Semiconductor, as well as extensive engineering and applications resources, and the Advanced Process Lab (APL) - the industry's most comprehensive technical resource. This breadth of capabilities distinguishes Universal as a provider of comprehensive solutions for solar, green lighting and power conversion applications which often require multiple technologies.

"We always look forward to exhibiting at APEX and getting an opportunity to really showcase what we can do for our customers," states Brad Bennett, Universal's Vice President of Sales. "We are, however, particularly excited this year with the launch of two powerful new platforms that will absolutely expand the capabilities and possibilities for manufacturers in their respective markets. We feel very good about the timing and fit for both the Advantis 3(TM) and Genesis Series 2 Platforms."

Universal Vice President of Marketing Debbora Ahlgren adds, "We're well-positioned with the most complete equipment portfolio in the industry. As we move forward with our product roadmap, we will strive for higher levels of capability and performance within each of the technology segments, such that manufacturers at all levels can improve performance and ultimately entertain opportunities outside of traditionally defined competencies."

Universal Instruments fortifies its complete productivity solutions - built around best-in-class production equipment - by integrating expertise in applied materials selection, prototype production builds, factory layout, and applications design and development to achieve the best possible results. Dimensions® Linechart enables manufacturers to monitor graphical production data, while Line Manager provides tools to maximize utilization and track and trace materials during production. Universal also maintains a distinct advantage with the knowledge and experience of the APL helping to enhance yield, achieve continuous process improvement, and optimize product reliability and lifecycle. Universal's Global Services provide value-added support through all phases of the ownership experience; from site preparation and startup, to equipment audits and enhancements, to block service contracts and post-warranty support continuance packages. Universal is the only single-vendor solution capable of meeting all assembly challenges with its breadth of products and services, and the expertise to take full advantage of them.
