HP T500 UPS Protects Against Power Problems and Saves Files
Houston, July 14, 2004 - Hewlett-Packard Company announced the HP T500 UPS, a high performance uninterruptible power system (UPS) for the SMB and desktop-workstation market providing protection from power outages for equipment with power requirements up to 300 watts. Designed to meet low-level power requirements, this UPS is ideal for printers and peripherals, faxes or modems, desktops, workstations, or any entry-level server environment, enabling continued work during sudden brief power outages. In the event of an extended power outage, it can automatically save data, close applications, and perform a systematic shutdown. Rated at 500VA/300watts, the HP T500 UPS provides up to 30 minutes of battery backup time and includes both a serial and USB interface for power monitoring.
Six receptacles allow customization of the battery backup time as three outlets are for UPS with surge protection, and the other three outlets are "surge only" receptacles - which allot more significant backup time to critical equipment. Line-interactive voltage regulation corrects brownouts as low as 83V back to 120V nominal values. Free web-based power management software continuously monitors the quality of utility-supplied power and enables broadcast alarms, status monitoring, and an orderly file and operating system shutdown in the event of an extended power failure.
