Ultrasonic Distance Sensors are software programmable.

Press Release Summary:

Series 942-T Sensors offer scan ranges from 5.9-137.5 in. and analog output with 2 switching outputs in M30 chemical-resistant, plastic housing. Over-range counter monitors target's presence and output remains constant unless target is outside specified range for longer than programmed period of time. Analog output range, offset, and slope are programmable by software on standard PC. Outputs include 4-20 mA or true 0-10.0 Vdc.

Honeywell Introduces the 942-T Series Ultrasonic Distance Sensor

Advance Programming features for ease of installation and use

FREEPORT, Ill., October 16, 2003 - Honeywell [NYSE:HON] Sensing and Control has introduced the 942-T Series software programmable ultrasonic distance sensors. The 942-T Series provides the most advanced programming features available within the Honeywell line of ultrasonic sensors, making them easy to install and operate. They are designed for applications that require the sensors' functionalities to be tailored to solve the most difficult applications.

The 942-T Series ultrasonic sensors can be used in a variety of applications including the winding and unwinding machinery used in the paper and textile industries, bottle counting equipment in the food and beverage industries, and to provide level measurement for liquids or flowing solids, such as plastic pellets or grains.
The 942-T series includes these features:
o Large scan ranges from 150 mm to 3500 mm [5.9 inch to 137.5 inch]
o Analog output along with two switching outputs in the same housing
o Over Range Counter - (The over range counter can be used to monitor a target's presence. The output remains constant unless the target is outside the specified range for longer than the programmed period of time. When this occurs the sensor's ouput value is updated.)
o Compact M30 chemical-resistant plastic housing
o Analog output range, offset, and slope, easily programmable by software on a standard PC
o 4 mA to 20 mA or true 0 Vdc to 10.0 Vdc output
o NO/NC, switching/windows mode for the switching outputs
o Non-volatile memory for the parameters.

Operating parameters are adjusted using a PC, Microsoft Windows compatible software, and the RS-232 communications connection. The Windows compatible software provides an intuitive man-machine interface with extended capabilities that allow the adjustment of parameters, such as, digital signal processing, cycle time, hysteresis, slope and others.
