Ultrasonic Cement Analyzer withstands heat to 600°F.

Press Release Summary:

Utilizing ultrasonic transducer technology, Model 4265-HT provides continuous compressive strength measurement of oilfield cements during curing under harsh down-hole temperature (600°F max) and pressure (20,000 psig max) conditions. It determines cement strength by measuring change in velocity of ultrasonic signal transmitted through cement as it hardens. Non-destructive method allows for real-time observation of strength development versus time.

Chandler Engineering Introduces First Ultrasonic Cement Analyzer to Break the 400-Degree Barrier

BROKEN ARROW, OK - Chandler Engineering, a leader in pipeline, drilling and completion products, has introduced the Chandler Model 4265 High Temperature Ultrasonic Cement Analyzer (UCA) designed to measure the compressive strength of oilfield cement at temperatures as high as 600oF (316oC) and pressures up to 20,000 psig (1379 bar).

The Model 4265-HT UCA is the first to break the 400o F limitation by utilizing newly developed ultrasonic transducer technology. It was developed to provide continuous compressive strength development of oilfield cements during curing under harsh down-hole temperature and pressure conditions.

The search for oil and gas in deeper and hotter reservoirs prompted the need for this development. The Model 4265-HT incorporates new patent-pending transducer design as well as other design features that allow for improvements in the operation and safety of cement testing under extreme high-temperature conditions.

The Model 4265-HT determines cement strength by measuring the change in velocity of an ultrasonic signal transmitted through the cement as it hardens. The relative strength of the cement is calculated using proprietary algorithms and has been repeatedly proven to produce reliable and reproducible data. This non-destructive method for determining relative compressive strength allows for real-time observation of strength development versus time.

Chandler Engineering focuses on upstream markets in oil and gas exploration and production. Its products are used for well production, production enhancement, reservoir development and pipeline transmission. Its products include oilfield cement analyzers, viscometers, phase behavior instruments, formation testers, natural gas chromatographs, densitometers, gravitometers and moisture analyzers.
