UGS made the announcement at its 2005 Solid Edge User Summit and Executive Symposium.
The new UGS Velocity Series portfolio marks the PLM industry's first comprehensive, preconfigured portfolio of digital product design, analysis and data management software and the entry point into the company's powerful Teamcenter platform. UGS Velocity Series is the first mid-market offering to combine industry-proven digital product development solutions with the unparalleled technology of UGS' Teamcenter, the de facto standard for PLM deployments.

It manages the complete design process for engineering organizations currently experiencing a data explosion brought on by rapidly expanding product complexity. To minimize IT implementation and maintenance costs, the product is designed for the standard process in a Microsoft environment, as well as pre-configured with workflows from UGS' years of cPDM experience. This also provides low total cost of ownership, while remaining scalable to the full Teamcenter portfolio as customer needs grow. With complete Teamcenter compatibility, suppliers have an unparalleled level of compliance with OEM processes, allowing them to grow their OEM business, while improving customer satisfaction without the costs associated with custom deployments.
