DARATECH SUMMIT 2006, CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced Teamcenter® for Simulation software, to extend the value of analysis data management throughout the product lifecycle for the analysis community. Teamcenter is UGS' digital lifecycle management solution, the world's most widely used PLM portfolio and winner of the IndustryWeek Technology of the Year Award for 2005.
This announcement is a key element of UGS' Lifecycle Simulation strategy that UGS Chairman, CEO and President Tony Affuso, will announce during his keynote address today at the Daratech Summit 2006 event (see separate release).

Unique Visual Environment for Lifecycle Simulation
Teamcenter for Simulation is a unique visual environment for lifecycle simulation. Teamcenter is integrated with UGS' NX digital product development environment. Through this integration, NX Simulation Process Studio enables experts to leverage visual workflow definitions to quickly define and institutionalize best practices. This enables more designs to be validated in less time. Using NX Simulation Process Studio, new analysis wizards for designers will be delivered with NX in Q2.
Broad, Large Scale Solution
Unlike niche CAE industry players, UGS enables the strength of a broad data management system to address analysis data management needs. Teamcenter for Simulation enables vast amounts of data to be managed in multiple databases to meet the complex needs of the analysis community. For example, UGS recently set the standard for high performance computing with the successful execution of a 200 million degrees of freedom (MDOF) model that processed 4.2 tera-bytes of input/output using eight processors in shared memory parallel paradigm (see separate release).
