Two New Sizes Complete Wing GNG Line

Robbie just introduced two new sizes of their wing pouches designed for grab-n-go wings. The first known flexible all-in-one packaging solution in the market that offers all the same benefits of Hot N Handy packages....but now designed to hold wings.

The new pouches were designed with the same attributes as the 3lb wing pouch but aimed for the consumer needing just 1lb or 2lbs of wings.

Previous packages were boxes, buckets or rigid containers. Buckets would expand from the hot moisture of the loaded wings and lids would tend to pop off. The Hot N Handy Pouch is a one piece design that features a resealable zipper, easy to carry handle, microwavable laminated film and a crystal clear window to see the product inside. The characteristics of the proprietary coex structure used in the lamination plastic film provides a package resistant to moisture, tearing and is leak resistant. A gusseted bottom keeps the pouch upright preventing unwanted spills.

Boxes and rigid containers require labels for price and nutrition information. Hot N Handy Pouches are a flexible pouch offering printing ability on all sides of the package for consumer information and for store branding.

As stated in the IDDBA, What's In Store-2009 Report - Hot Trend:
Chicken wings are a hot item, serving equally well as for dinner, party fare and tailgating. Because people tend to buy wings in quantities to meet their individual needs, many supermarket delis are adding wing bars, which are similar to self-serve salad bars with as many as 10 different flavors available, such as teriyaki, Asian, Jamaican, barbecue and buffalo spiced.

Free standing kiosks have been introduced in many supermarkets offering 5 or 6 varieties of wings. Hot N Handy Pouches are placed by can be preloaded for warming cases.

The price on wings have now escaladed more than breasts due to their overwhelming popularity.

The National Chicken Council (NCC) Reports:
In 2008, the NCC estimated that more than 12 billion chicken wings (2.55 billion pounds) would be marketed as individual cuts as opposed to the wings on whole chicken or breast quarters. Of these, 7.5 billion wings (1.5 billion pounds) would be sold through foodservice channels. Another 3.5 billion wings (750 million pounds) would be sold in retail grocery stores.

They went further to say that 450 million cut wings, or more than 1 billion wing portions, were consumed during Super Bowl weekend in 2008 - that's 90 million pounds of wings.
