Two L-950s Sold to Quarry Operations

LTI Mining Products delivered L 950 loaders to two separate quarry operations in Canada and in the Northern U.S. in 2007.

To the first quarry, delivery time of the loader was critical. Because of strict frost laws that can impact productivity, the operation needed a loader quickly. The customer was looking for a more efficient, cost-effective machine than the CAT 992 and WA900 they had, and as a result, chose the highly fuel efficient L 950. It was estimated that by operating the L 950 versus the WA900 over a period of eight years, the quarry operation would save $600,000 in fuel costs. In addition, LTI was able to demonstrate the overall cost effectiveness of the L 950 over the life of the loader (40,000 hours).

The second L 950 delivered in 2007 was sold to a new engineering group within the quarry. Because cost savings and greater efficiencies in the quarry were critical, this group was willing to consider an alternative to their existing CAT fleet. The savings on fuel and lubricants afforded by the L 950 was key to the quarry's decision to buy. A trip to view the machine in operation served to close the sale.
