Emerson Expands Daniel Turbine Flow Meter Family to Address Emerging Petroleum Marketing Terminal Needs For Low Volume Fuel Blending

New, smaller line sizes of Daniel Series 1200 Turbine Flow Meters deliver high accuracy and reliability for new applications

HOUSTON, TEXAS (December 6, 2004) -- Emerson Process Management has announced the release of the Daniel Series 1200 Turbine Flow Meter in 1, 1.5 and 2-inch line sizes. This Daniel meter serves the need for highly accurate flow measurement in continuous, low volume fuel blending operations.

In the United States, recent state environmental legislation has led to requirements to use ethanol in place of Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE) as a gasoline oxygenate to achieve higher octane ratings. This change in legislation leads to a new market need for turbine meters that measure low volumes of additives required in fuel blending.

"Meeting the changing needs of the petroleum industry in this critical application is fundamental to the success of our customers," said Peter Liptrot, product manager of Daniel liquid products at Emerson Process Management. "As regulations change the way our customers operate, we will remain focused on serving their needs."

This initiative of adding line sizes to the Daniel Series 1200 Turbine Flow Meter range is part of the Daniel mission to serve the petroleum industry with flow metering products, solutions and services.
