Tube Separator prevents corrosion for pneumatic tubing.

Press Release Summary:

Custom fabricated per end-user specification to facilitate installation, Tube Separation Assembly (T-SEP) helps reduce and prevent crevice corrosion for pneumatic tubing for offshore, shipbuilding, and steel fabrication installations. Design allows corrosive elements to escape tubing before crevice corrosion can develop while maintaining 1/8 in. separation of tubing. Elements of construction include half round I-rod, thermoplastic, and grade 316 stainless steel separators.

Tube Separation Assembly from Production Fastening Systems, LLC Addresses Crevice Corrosion for Pneumatic Tubing

New Orleans, LA, November 16, 2009 -- Production Fastening Systems, LLC (PFS), a New Orleans based stud welding distributor, has launched its new Tube Separation Assembly (T-SEP) to help reduce and prevent crevice corrosion for pneumatic tubing for offshore, shipbuilding, and steel fabrication installations. The new assembly will be custom fabricated per customer's specification to allow for quick and easy installation.

Current methods of separating parallel runs of pneumatic tubing utilize "saddles" which allow corrosive elements to gather at the point of separation and cause crevice corrosion of the tubing. The T-SEP is designed to allow corrosive elements to escape the tubing before crevice corrosion can develop while maintaining a 1/8" separation of the tubing.

Through the use of a half round I-rod, a durable thermoplastic, and grade 316 stainless steel separators, the round-to-round surface design helps to avoid contact with the tubing and prevent build-up of corrosive liquids at the point of separation of the tubing, allowing corrosive elements to easily escape. The assembly also includes a 1" wide by 1/4" thick flat bar in either grade 316 stainless steel or grade 6061 aluminum, as well as grade 316 stainless steel mounting hardware.

"With our experienced metal stamping ability, we were confident we could achieve these parameters and help to eliminate the crevice corrosion problem" said company president Gerry Keller. Regarding the availability of the new T-SEP product, Gerry Keller says, "PFS will fabricate assembly per specification to allow for quick and easy installation which may be used not only on offshore production platforms, but also in chemical plants, refineries, or anywhere the tubing corrosion issue arises."
