Trimble Extends its Spectra Precision Product Line

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 13 -- Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) today announced the extension of its Spectra Precision(R) brand with the release of two new survey products -- the FOCUS(TM) 10 Total Station and the EPOCH(TM) 10 L1 GPS System. The Spectra Precision product line augments the Trimble brand with differentiated products aimed at a broader survey instruments market not historically targeted by Trimble. The Spectra Precision survey products will be available for shipment in October 2005.

The new Spectra Precision products build on the conventional survey market segment that Trimble entered into in 2003 through a joint venture with Nikon Corporation. The joint venture absorbed the Nikon survey instrument products and gave Trimble worldwide distribution rights outside of Japan.
