Hermetically Sealed, Cube Shaped Triaxial Accelerometer for Vibration Measurements in Adverse Environments

Measuring simultaneous acceleration signals in three orthogonal axis, the 8290A25 is housed in a cube shaped package with a notched corner that allows for convenient identification of the accelerometer's orientation when working in blind areas. The shear design employing a ceramic sensing element, provides a wide operating frequency range along with extremely low sensitivity to thermal transients, and base strain. Constructed from light weight titanium, this hermetically sealed accelerometer can be used for general vibration measurements at temperatures up to 165°C.

The 8290A25 accelerometer is a high impedance charge, mode sensor featuring a charge sensitivity of 25 pC/g, a measuring of ± 2000 g with a frequency response of 1 to 4000 Hz. Signal output from the accelerometer is conveyed through three 10-32 coaxial connectors and when used with Kistler low noise, Teflon extruded cables, terminated in a uniquely designed stainless connectors; reliable operation is assured. The sensor can be mounted to the test structure either by stud or adhesive.

The 8290 is recommended for general vibration measurements at high temperatures and confined areas. Applications include vehicle vibration and NVH testing, general laboratory, ESS, as well as modal testing.
