Triaxial Accelerometer operates in space-restricted locations.

Press Release Summary:

Model 356A01 ICP® Accelerometer, measuring just 0.25 x 0.25 x 0.25 in., is adhesively mounted to test article to simultaneously measure 3 orthogonal axes. Unit is structured with shear mode, piezoceramic sensing element and built-in signal conditioning microelectronics to produce low-impedance voltage output signals capable of being transmitted over long cable lengths. It offers sensitivity of 5mV/g and peak measurement range of 1,000 g.

Smallest, Lightest Triaxial Accelerometer

June 1, 2003, Depew, NY - The Vibration Division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc., introduces a new miniature Model 356A01 ICP® accelerometer designed for performing shock and vibration studies in space-restricted locations and on very small, lightweight structures. Sensor occupies a 0.25 x 0.25 x 0.25 inch (6.35 mm square) footprint, and weighs a mere 0.04 ounces (1.0 grams) without the cable, for minimal mass loading effects of the test article. The unit has an integral low noise cable and is adhesively mounted to the test article to simultaneously measure three orthogonal axes.

Model 356A01 accelerometer is ideal for measuring vibration in small electrical components, scaled models, and biomedical research. Unit is structured with a shear mode, piezoceramic sensing element and built-in signal conditioning microelectronics to produce clean, low-impedance voltage output signals capable of being transmitted over long cable lengths. The unit has a sensitivity of 5mV/g, measurement range of 1000 g (peak), and operating temperature range from -65 to +250° F (-54 to +121° C). Additional features include a hermetically-sealed, titanium housing, with a side-connector to minimize strain on the integral cable, and a 10,000 g shock limit.
