Original Press Release:

Teseq's New AES 5500 Automotive Transient Emissions System Designed for ISO 7637-2 Emissions Testing

Edison, N.J. August 2008 - Teseq Inc., a leading developer and provider of instrumentation and systems for EMC emission and immunity testing, has introduced its new AES 5500 automotive transient emissions system. The AES 5500 is the only complete solution for emission testing that is compliant to ISO 7637-2.

By meeting the ISO 7637-2 automotive industry standard, the system is ideal for testing the compatibility of conducted electrical transients of equipment installed in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles fitted with a 12 V electrical system or commercial vehicles fitted with a 24 V electrical system.

The AES 5500's 100 A MC-type connectors are strategically placed and countersunk 50 mm above the ground plane to allow for precise cabling between the system's switches, artificial network and test bench. The versatile system has a separate control station for automatic, manual or external triggering of switches and also gives the user complete control over where, when and how the switches can be placed and controlled, including drive voltages for the relays. The precise switch placement, cable length and industry standard relay footprint of the AES 5500 enables numerous manufacturer standards to be met.

The system offers clean, reliable 100 A operation with a very low voltage drop as well as a transient voltage of 440 V to protect against long-term deterioration by eliminating high voltage transients, spikes and surges. The AES 5500 includes relay voltages of 12 V, 24 V and 42 V. The system's non-repetitive electronic switch features an inrush current of up to 1,000 A, 10 ms or 300 A, 1 s.

Please call for pricing on the AES 5500. Lead-time is approximately 8 - 12 weeks ARO.
