Transera Communications Joins WebEx Connect Developer Network to Build Virtual Assistant Applications for WebEx Connect Platform
WebEx Connect Unlocks Software Suite and Enables New Generation of Distributed Innovation with Software-as-a-Service Integration, Distribution and Monetization Platform
SUNNYVALE, Calif. and SAN FRANCISCO, April 16 // -- Web 2.0 Expo -- Transera Communications, the first company to offer an adaptive on-demand call management solution, and WebEx (NASDAQ:WEBX), the leading provider of on-demand applications for collaborative business, today announced that Transera joined the WebEx Connect Developer Network to make Transera's Virtual Assistant available via WebEx Connect.
WebEx Connect, the first collaborative software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, will enable developers and customers to integrate multiple applications to create powerful collaborative business "mashup" solutions from best-of-breed, web-based, on-premises and desktop applications. Transera's Virtual Assistant is an on-demand call management application that integrates with the platform to provide multi-enterprise call management. Virtual Assistant provides an unprecedented level of control over voice calls, including the ability to route, transfer and conference calls across enterprises. The combined offering eliminates capital spending, reduces operations staff and accelerates time to market compared to traditional call management solutions.
With Transera's Virtual Assistant, organizations of any size can intelligently manage and route calls to the most appropriate employee based on availability and expertise. Virtual Assistant also enables users to collaborate in real-time with third-parties and provides voice call management, allowing users to place, receive and manage voice calls from their Connect workspace with no technology investment at the premises.
"WebEx and Transera share a common philosophy and the WebEx Connect Developer Program brings true collaboration to the enterprise," said Prem Uppaluru, CEO and co-founder, Transera Communications. "Both companies share a common vision in delivering real-time applications on-demand that enable collaborative and efficient communications across multiple enterprises. By connecting users around the globe and across technological and organizational boundaries, both of our companies are improving communication and productivity while providing a tangible return to our customers."
Virtual Assistant is one of the many applications users will be able to access through the Connect Marketplace applications. WebEx Connect will enable users to integrate data from multiple applications into collaborative workspaces custom designed for their particular workflows and business processes. Unlike traditional transactional applications, Connect is designed to improve productivity by enhancing collaboration and interaction between individuals. By leveraging open Web 2.0 protocols and collaborative WebEx applications programming interfaces (APIs), Connect will make it easy to adapt on-demand, desktop, and enterprise applications to create composite, "mashup" applications.
"Transera delivers a SaaS solution that seamlessly blends traditional voice communications into the WebEx Connect collaboration framework," said Shankar Iyer, vice president, WebEx Connect ecosystem. "Its unique technological approach eliminates the silos that have traditionally existed between voice communications, web collaboration and data applications. With this new technology, customers can drive employee productivity by providing voice communications as an integrated part of collaborative enterprise applications."
The WebEx Connect Developer Network provides the tools, training, resources and community that developers need to build and market applications for WebEx Connect. Developers can access WebEx Connect documentation, APIs, a "sandbox" development platform and join the partner program to access a beta WebEx Connect client. WebEx Connect partner marketing services can help developers generate go-to-market strategies and leads for the applications on the WebEx Connect Marketplace.
