Trace Visualization Software facilitates electronics development.

Press Release Summary:

With traces imported from standard probes, TraceAnalyzer v1.2 visualizes and analyzes timing trace and log data for ECUs, controllers, processors, buses, and networks. Program also generates statistics on execution times, interrupt patterns, communication bursts, and resource utilization. Software shows controller and bus schedules with events, blocking, and pre-emptions and details timing chains so engineers can see flow of signals and data through system.

Launch of TraceAnalyzer 1.2 Delivers 10x Speed Improvement

Visualizes timing traces for automotive, aerospace, automation and transportation electronics development

Braunschweig, Germany - Symtavision, a leading global solutions provider for real-time systems design and verification, has launched TraceAnalyzer 1.2 which delivers a ten-fold speed improvement in terms of visualizing and analyzing timing trace and log data for ECUs, controllers, processors, buses and networks, while also reducing memory requirements ten-fold..

The Symtavision TraceAnalyzer is a powerful tool for visualizing system timing in terms of the constituent ECUs, controllers, processors, buses and networks. With traces imported from standard trace probes, Symtavision TraceAnalyzer visualizes the trace and analyzes the timing, so that key timing parameters can be identified and properly understood, and generates statistics on execution times, interrupt patterns, communication bursts and resource utilization, amongst others. It provides visual clarity showing controller and bus schedules with events, blocking and pre-emptions and details the timing chains so that engineers can see the flow of signals and data through the system including data loss and multiple reads of the same data. Results are provided both graphically and in tabular form.

Symtavision TraceAnalyzer is also capable of automatically generating system timing models for SymTA/S, Symtavision's de-facto industry-standard tools suite for system-level timing design and timing verification. Symtavision recently announced SymTA/S 2.4 incorporating a wealth of new and improved features targeted at the automotive electronics, aerospace, automation and transportation markets including enhanced support for multi-core processors and AUTOSAR.

"Understanding system timing and performance is fundamental to designing and verifying real-time systems," said Dr. Marek Jersak, CEO of Symtavision. "As such, tracing is now typically applied to log the timing of relevant events. However, the challenge is to efficiently analyze trace data and quickly identify timing problems along with their root causes. The Symtavision TraceAnalyzer provides engineers with an extremely powerful tool for visually analyzing this data and, with the launch of TraceAnalyzer 1.2, the ability to perform analyses up to 10 times faster than before."

In the coming months, Dr. Jersak, CEO of Symtavision, will be giving talks on the techniques and tools for system-level timing design and timing verification at SAE World Congress 2011 (April 13, Detroit), ESC 2011 Silicon Valley (May 5, San Jose) and DAC 2011 (June 5, San Diego) in the USA.
