Toyoda's FH-S Series' High-Spindle Speeds Achieve 30 Percent Faster Cycle Times

Arlington Heights, IL - Toyoda Machinery's FH-S Series horizontal machining center increases throughput by pairing high spindle speeds with faster non-cutting operations, resulting in 30 percent faster cycle times.

The FH450-S is a fast and powerful 40-taper HMC, and has been designed for quick acceleration and deceleration. It has a significantly larger work envelope than comparable machines, yet the streamlined enclosure consumes minimal floorspace. Its modular design allows flexible configuration in any manufacturing environment.

The low-friction linear guides rely on roller bearings. This design provides twice the rigidity and three times the vibration-dampening performance of traditional ball bearings.

Topographic optimization analysis (with FEM) was used to remove excess weight from the column while maintaining rigidity. The resulting acceleration is 1 G with a rapid feedrate of 2,362 ipm. The new Fanuc 30i CNC adopts the Field Bus, which is a network allowing control devices such as PLC, PC, and sensor actuator to be easily connected with each other.
