Cost-Effective Touch Screen Displays and Monitors Now Available as Standard Products from TFS
Touch Screens Provide Simplicity for Users, Flexibility for Design Engineers
Marlboro, MA - November 2004 - Three-Five Systems, Inc. (NYSE: TFS), an established provider of custom touch screen displays and an integrator of touch screen technology, has unveiled a family of touch screen displays that is available as a line of standard products with cost-effective price points and low minimum quantities. These touch screen displays are suited for high-transaction applications in industrial and retail environments. Ideal applications include Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications, transaction and public information kiosks, point-of-sale terminals, clean rooms, gaming, and medical.
TFS offers cost-effective standard touch screen displays in three standard sizes - 15-inch, 17-inch and 19-inch - each with resistive or capacitive touch screen technology. All three are available in desktop, rack-mount or panel-mount configurations.
"These standard touch screen standard products are a great fit for applications that are price sensitive and do not need product customization," said Sriram Peruvemba, General Manager, Flat Panel Display Systems Division of TFS. "Our knowledge of touch screen integration is second to none, and we are well versed with all major touch screen technologies."
TFS continues to offer custom touch screen display designs in sizes ranging from 5 inches to 40 inches, as well as many models with Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) or Infra-Red (IR) touch technologies.
"We have used 19-inch, 20-inch and 21-inch touch screen based monitors from TFS for several years," said Daniel Carrie, General Manager Foxboro Automation, Invensys Process Systems, Inc. "The performance of the products has been exceptional, and TFS' service is unparalleled."
Input technologies are moving from hardware-based buttons and keyboards to software-based touch screen displays that emphasize simplicity for users and flexibility for design engineers. Touch screen technology affords numerous benefits for user-friendly interaction:
o More information - Computer screen displays enable engineers to create graphical, flexible input interfaces that can provide the user with more information.
o Ease of use - No interaction is more intuitive than a touch screen.
o Flexibility - Interfaces can support multiple languages and multiple applications, or can be customized for different customers.
o Ease of upgrades - Changes to the application or device can be implemented rapidly and easily through software-based screen displays. No hardware changes are necessary.
o Reliability and durability - Touch screens provide uncommon levels of durability in the face of harsh environments, especially where dirt or liquid contaminants are present.
o Shrinking space requirements - Touch technologies eliminate the need to provide keyboards and mice which take up space and are not rugged enough for non-desktop applications.
Options and customization available for TFS' touch screen displays include private labeling and silk-screen logos, mounting arrangements include desktop stands, wall mounts, mounting arms, panel and kiosk mounting and rack mount capability. Single-unit quantity pricing starts at $599 for the 15" model, and quantity pricing is available. Contact TFS for more details.
