Torque Transducer measures 0-6,000 Hz frequency range.

Press Release Summary:

Model T12 digital torque transducer offers measurement system in single transducer, including amplifier and control software. It uses fieldbus interfaces for quick connection to PLC systems. T12 Assistant software enables both recorded and computed quantities to be visualized. Transducer ensures efficiency and safety for measurements in motor and transmission test benches and for monitoring of pumps.

Original Press Release:

The New Dimension in Torque Measurement Using "smarttorque by HBM"

HBM opens up a "new dimension in torque measurement" for power test benches. The T12 digital torque transducer is the first member of the new "smarttorque" product family. It provides a combination of high accuracy and a wide measurement frequency range. T12 ensures increased efficiency and safety for measurements in motor and transmission test benches and for the monitoring of pumps.

T12 is the first torque transducer that guarantees results of optimum accuracy over the wide measurement frequency range of 0 through 6,000 Hz - all the way up to physical limits. However, T12 provides even more: It's a complete measurement system in a single transducer, including amplifier and control software.

The new "smarttorque by HBM" product family stands for a method of torque measurement that provides both high accuracy, as well as time and cost savings. The T12 digital torque transducer is the first member of the "smarttorque" family. It fully complies with the demanding requirements for high accuracy, high dynamics, and high resolution. Further it is easily integrated into your automation systems and provides maximum safety through many monitoring and diagnosis functions.

Fast track to test results

In addition to its excellent technical performance features, T12 offers further functions that enable users to save time and costs. The T12 torque transducer uses modern fieldbus interfaces for quick connection to PLC systems. Because of its frequency and analog output, T12 is also optimally fit for use with conventional technologies. Many monitoring functions, e. g. recording of minimum and maximum values during measurement, minimize your risks and allow you to take a closer look at the quality of your measurements.

The performance features and functions provided by T12 have received highly positive feedback from first users. Test engineers attach high value to both the many functions T12 provides and its ease of use. The Technical University of Clausthal, Germany, attests the many advantages of T12 which include last but not least "its easy installation, the digital analysis options and the direct CAN/USB connection to the laptop."

Easy-to-use T12 software for reliable measurements

The "T12 Assistant" software is used for setting up and controlling the T12 torque transducer. T12 Assistant enables both recorded and computed quantities (e. g. power) to be visualized. Configuring the system and assigning parameters is easy. Warning messages inform you of any errors that may have occurred during measurement. A password is required for changing the default settings and protects against inadvertent changes. This is only one example for the additional safety and flexibility you get from the "new dimension in torque measurement".

All technical documentation for "smarttorque" is available on the Internet at www.hbm.com/torque. Also refer to our brochure "The new dimension in torque measurement" which highlights all the benefits provided by the T12 measurement system.
