Original Press Release:

Time Management System With High-performance Human Resource Allocation

Bosch's BoTime 3 offers a powerful and efficient time management system for the measurement and recording of working times and their evaluation. Staff use the system to register their data either on classic time management terminals or on their workplace PC. BoTime 3 transmits income-relevant salary or wage data via specific interfaces to the central wage and salary calculation system.

The new version of BoTime 3 has a Java user interface which is attractive, forward-looking, easy to use and can be individually configured. This allows the time recording clerks to make any required corrections for the staff members assigned to them. Via the integrated authorization workflow, staff members apply for their time off and their business trips or perhaps insert any time-relevant data they have forgotten. They can get any overtime entitlement confirmed or check their pay rates.

Bosch's PEP human resource allocation, combined with the BoTime 3 time management system, is a complete one-piece software solution. It makes very efficient use of the available information, offering greater planning flexibility with economic benefits.

PEP makes it possible to plan several weeks ahead, producing a more efficient use of human resources. Staff members can influence their working hours to their own advantage by registering their shift preferences. Predefined work plans lessen the administrative load of human resources planning. Working time models can be checked to ensure that they adhere to legal requirements and job changes can be documented.

Bosch's PEP also provides information on the staff costs arising within a specific planning period. Managers can then make alterations to achieve a more economic division of work, especially in respect of any overtime that may be required.

An advantage is the free choice between time-based and job-based planning. With time-based planning, the emphasis is on the free distribution of staff according to prescribed working time and shift models: an advantage, when additional staff need to be deployed at peak times. In determining staff deployment in call centers, for example, PEP analyzes the data from the call center for comparable periods of time and produces a forecast of the number of calls likely to arise. In retail outlets, till receipts from previously monitored periods are used to generate a forecast of the number of checkouts which need to be manned.

In addition, job-oriented staff planning can take staff qualifications into account. It then fills the position with one or more staff members with particular knowledge or skills. These bonus features are indispensable in the health care system, for example.

Bosch offers sector-specific human resource allocation solutions for health care systems, for the retail sector and for call centers. Entry control systems, wage and salary data interfaces, statistics modules, project time assessment and cost center data collection are available as modular expansions to BoTime 3.
