Go the Distance with the New Megger TDR900
The latest TDR from Megger is a fully auto-ranging, fault-finding instrument capable of measuring power, telephony, CATV and LAN cable lengths, and finding the distance to an open or a short, using Time Domain Reflectometry.
It has numerous applications within the electrical, construction and telecom/datacom fields. It is the ideal tool for electrical contractors to test low voltage cables used in situations such as street lighting, secondary power to homes, and inventory control. Telephone installation and repair technicians use the TDR900 to test service drops and inside wiring during troubleshooting and construction, and maintenance technicians use it to test outside plant cabling systems.
The TDR900 has an internal library of 39 standard cable types and can be used for any cable consisting of at least two insulated metallic elements, one of which may be the sheath or shield of the cable. It has automatic output impedance control of 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 or 150 ohms and its measurement range spans from 15 feet to 10,000 feet with a minimum resolution of 20 inches.
