Lathem Time Releases New 5000E Plus Time Clock, an Enhanced Version of the Popular 5000E

ATLANTA, Ga. - September 1, 2003 - Lathem Time Corporation, one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of time and attendance products for small business, introduces its new 5000E Plus (Model 5000EP) time clock, an enhanced version of the Model 5000E. This enhanced model is being introduced as a running change to the 5000E.

Features include a stylish new case design with large print window for easy card alignment; ability to print a special character "*" for tardy punches or early departures; consecutive numbering option that has been increased from six to eight digits; six new preset comments, now totaling 13; an optional relay board that provides internal buzzer, allows external bell ringing, and slave clock operation; and simple 3-button user programming that eliminates dipswitches.

"The 5000E Plus is a multi-purpose electronic time recorder designed to handle essential timekeeping needs for small business," said Lance Whipple, director of marketing for Lathem Time. "It is affordable and reliable and performs three different functions: time recording, time stamping and numbering to aid companies with accurate information and record keeping."

Time recording helps track and control payroll, labor and job costs; time stamping imprints documents with the date and time for time sensitive identification or can print PAID or SENT on documents; numbering assists when it is necessary to track sequential documents, printing up to an eight digit number that advances based on the settings.

Additionally, the 5000E Plus is extremely reliable because it offers a perpetual calendar, automatic daylight savings and leap year adjustments, an optional battery for operation during power failure and a standard three-year memory back up. The 5000E Plus also features quick installing ribbon cartridges and a print alignment view finder, making it user- friendly and easy to use. The new 5000EP uses the same ribbon (P/N: VIS6008) as the Lathem Model 1000E and Model 7000E.
