TIM Brasil Deploys First Phase of Amdocs-Powered B/OSS Transformation Project

First phase of transformation project delivers inventory/planning system that provides highly accurate, real-time view of resources and utilization for its wireless backhaul network

SAO PAULO, -- Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced that TIM Brasil, the second largest mobile service provider in Brazil, has gone into live production with the first phase of its "B/OSS" transformation project. The announcement was made at Futurecom, taking place today in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Last February Amdocs announced its selection as the primary provider of a solution bridging business support systems (BSS) and operational support systems (OSS) to unify customer ordering, provisioning processes and activation across multiple channels and lines of business.

This deployment marks the first step in TIM's consolidation of two separate networks following its acquisition of Intelig in 2009. Phase one of this OSS transformation uses Amdocs Resource Manager and Amdocs Resource Planner to establish a single inventory and planning system for TIM's wireless backhaul network, providing an end-to-end view of all network resources (physical, logical and services) and their real-time utilization levels. Having this highly accurate view of all network resources will reduce TIM's costs for interconnections and leased lines, as well as optimize its network investment by ensuring it adds new resources only as required.

Additional products from Amdocs' Customer Experience Systems (CES) 8 suite will be deployed at TIM including Amdocs Ordering and Amdocs Enterprise Product Catalog. This will provide a centralized product information repository across TIM Brasil's nationwide network.

"We're very pleased with the results of this first phase of our OSS transformation and the smoothness of its implementation," said Marco DiCostanzo, Network Director for TIM Brasil. "We're already realizing greater efficiencies by having an accurate, real-time picture of our network - and we're still in the project's early stages."

"TIM Brasil is a perfect example of a forward-thinking service provider that is not only consolidating its separate networks, but transforming its business by simultaneously delivering exciting new services more quickly, delighting their customers, and improving operating cost efficiencies," said Patrick McGrory, divisional president for CALA at Amdocs. "We are proud TIM Brasil selected Amdocs to be their trusted partner for this important project."
