Compact Three Phase Voltage Monitor: The TVW Series (The Net(TM))
ABB is pleased to announce a new addition to the SSAC brand of three phase voltage monitors, the TVW Series or The Net(TM).
The TVW Series or The Net(TM), is the second three phase voltage monitor from SSAC to be encapsulated in a compact 2"x 2" (50.4mm) surface mountable package. The Net(TM) was designed for the original equipment manufacturer to provide full protection while substantially lowering the installed cost. Electrical connections are easily made via 0.25" (6.35mm) quick connect terminals and a single bolt mounts it.
This device is designed to motors and other sensitive loads by continuously measuring the voltage of each of the three phases. It uses a microcomputer circuit design that senses undervoltage, overvoltage, voltage unbalance, phase loss, and phase reversal. Protection is provided even when regenerated voltages are present. The trip points and time delays are factory fixed and calibrated. No user adjustment is required!
The TVW trip delay, factory fixed from 0.2 to 100 seconds, prevents nuisance tripping. The restart delay, factory fixed from 0.4 seconds to 999 minutes prevents short cycling after a momentary power outage. An onboard bi-color LED indicator glows green when all voltages are acceptable and the output is energized; red when the output is de-energized. It flashes during the time delays. Both Delta and Wye systems can be monitored; no connection to neutral is required. The TVW Series is a combination of ANSI device types #27, 47, and 59. The TVW Series may also be mounted on 35mm DIN rail via SSAC's P1023-20 adaptor.
The isolated single pole double throw (SPDT) output relay contacts are rated 10 amps resistive. They can be used to switch motor contactor coils and other control voltage loads or alarm signaling devices.
The TVW Series is available with a selectable voltage range for line voltages ranging from 208 to 480 Volts AC, 50/60 Hz. It is also available in a wide range model covering 208 to 240 Volts AC in one unit.
Voltage monitors must survive the large voltage fluctuations caused by transients, sags, and surges. The TVW Series is designed and tested to IEEE C62.41-1991 Level B Surge Protection. It meets NEMA Standard MG1 14:30 and MG1 14:35 and exceeds the requirements of elevator code ASME A17.1 Rule #210.6.
