Henkel Loctite Introduces Threadlocker Sticks

Rocky Hill, Conn. - October 28, 2003. To simplify and improve product assembly, Henkel Loctite Corporation has introduced two popular threadlocking products in semi-solid stick form.
Convenient and portable, Loctite® 248 and Loctite® 268 deliver the same proven performance characteristics of liquid threadlockers, yet will not leak or drip and can be easily transported and stored.

Loctite 248 Blue is a medium strength threadlocker stick ideal for use with all types of threaded metal fasteners, especially those with diameters between 1/4 and 3/4 inch. Bolts assembled with this threadlocker can be disassembled using hand tools. Loctite 248 is ideal for use on machine tools and presses, pumps and compressors, mounting bolts and gear boxes.

Loctite 268 Red is a high strength threadlocker stick best suited for heavy duty applications where resistance to heavy shock, vibration, and stress is required. Separation of parts requires the use of localized heat and hand tools. Loctite 268 is typically used on suspension bolts, bearing cap bolts and studs, and motor, transmission, and pump mounts.

Conveniently packaged in 19 gram and 9 gram self-feeding stick applicators, the two threadlocking stick products work well in settings where liquid products may be difficult to apply, such as hard to reach applications, on components that cannot be moved, and for pretreating bolts. Solid threadlocking formulas won't run off the bolt root and can be applied when assembly will take place at a later time.

Patented worldwide and available only from Henkel Loctite, these are the first chemical threadlocking products in a semi-solid form. In 2003, Henkel Loctite Corporation is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the invention of anaerobic technology by Loctite founder Professor Vernon Krieble.
