Thomson NETg Introduces EXIN Accredited ITIL® Training in the U.S. for Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Dec. 19 /- To help meet the growing demand for quality Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) training, Thomson NETg will release a five-part EXIN accredited e-learning series that will lead to the Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management.

As part of this offering, Thomson NETg has entered into a strategic agreement with Plexent, an IT service management firm, to provide mentoring support by ITIL® Certified Managers. Through this support, learners can pose questions via e-mail to certified ITIL® mentors during or after their training.

ITIL®, a library of proven best practices for IT services, has been adopted by many organizations worldwide and is now recognized as the global standard for IT service management. ITIL® contains a comprehensive description of the processes involved in managing IT infrastructures.

"Organizations have become increasingly aware of the importance of aligning IT service delivery with their company's goals," says Clint Everton, president of Thomson NETg. "We're very excited to add this globally recognized certification program to our extensive IT learning offering."

The number of ITIL certifications administered each year correlates with ITIL's adoption. According to EXIN, in 2005, it had administered approximately 170,000 ITIL certifications to-date worldwide. More than 150,000 of the exams administered were at the Foundations Certification level.

"This powerful strategic relationship provides Thomson NETg students with access to experts who have achieved the highest ITIL® certification standard," says Gordon Brown, president of Plexent. "Our ITIL® experts have experience working with some of the world's most forward-thinking IT organizations."

Thomson NETg's ITIL® series is intended for professionals involved in the delivery or support of IT services and features the following courses:

82221 -- ITIL -- Overview of ITIL® and IT Service Management
82222 -- ITIL -- Service Level, Availability, and Security Management
