Elastocon TPE Technologies Introduces New Line of Thermoplastic Olefins (TPOs) for Large Parts
Offers Unmatched Scratch/Mar and Cold Weather Impact Resistance
ROCHESTER, IL (January 28, 2008) - Elastocon® TPE Technologies, Inc., quietly selling various formulations of TPE grades and specialized formulations since 1999, introduces the brand new Elastocon SMR Series of thermoplastic olefins (TPOs).
What sets these TPOs apart from others are benefits and features that include:
o High gloss with scratch and mar resistance to maintain perfect products during handling and delivery to OEMs including during assembly;
o grades are compatible with standard and proprietary processes including in-mold decorating, pad printing, hot foils and stamping and various proprietary decorative processes;
o they can be injection molded, extruded, thermoformed, blow molded or compounded;
o excellent machine-side colorability for vibrant and unique colors;
o available in a wide range of Shore D hardnesses;
o grades are supplied for compounding or as ready-to-use pellets in 1,000 quantities;
o cold weather impact resistance (down to -30oF) as compared to any other Shore D TPO; and
o ideal for high end applications including body panels, bumper facias and other large parts which could include decorative or high end filler panels, deflective guards or mud/snow flaps.
Additional benefits of this new SMR Series of polyolefin alloys include good surface appearance, high impact resistance, excellent color ability, resistance to most cleaning products and high flow properties to enhance filling of large complex parts. While available in black, natural (for coloring or colored), natural grades are FDA compliant and all grades UV stable. This new TPO line is also both RoHS and California Proposition 65 compliant. As a result, they are also ideally suited for a variety of applications for both consumer and industrial products.
